Cebu Pacific Destinations: Busuanga

Posted on March 15, 2010

Busuanga, northeast of Palawan Island, is the largest in the Calamian group of islands. During World War II, this island saw the bombardment of Japanese cargo and support vessels by US aerial forces; thus, there are splendid dive sites around the island which are now home to massive shipwrecks that have sunk during the attack. Hold your breath, because there are over 19 dive sites in Busuanga, many of which are cleverly named after the Japanese ships which sank in each area. For those more inclined to other activities, Busuanga also has a game reserve and wildlife sanctuary, Coron’’s Limestone cliffs, hot springs and hidden underwater caverns.
