Cebu Pacific flies Manila-Calbayog today

Gokongwei-owned Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ largest domestic airline, starts its thrice weekly Manila-Calbayog service today, using its seventh brand new ATR 72-500 aircraft.

The new service will fly every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Cebu Pacific’s Manila-Calbayog flights are sold at ‘Go Lite’ seat sale fare of P488 all-in. Sale ends on February 24. This is valid for travel from May 1 to December 31, 2009.

After the seat sale, the lowest all-inclusive ‘Go Lite’ fare starts from P1,188 all in.

Operating to new cities like Calbayog is part of the airline’s nation building efforts.

“Cebu Pacific is continuously expanding its domestic network because we want to help boost development within the country by linking islands together through an affordable means of transportation,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific VP for marketing and distribution. “Easier access to these areas can lead to more vibrant tourism and business activities.

“A faster, affordable and more convenient way to get to Samar encourages people to go home to their provinces more often. Or maybe even bring their friends to visit their hometowns. Cebu Pacific is all about giving people more choices.” Iyog added.

Iyog said that the best way to book Cebu Pacific flights is via the airline’s website, www.cebupacifcair.com. “Booking online is quick and easy.”

Cebu Pacific has flown 6.7 million passengers in 2008. It now has a fleet of 10 A319, 11 A320, and seven ATR 72-500 aircraft. The airline flies to 15 international cities and 30, soon to be 31 domestic destinations with the addition of Siargao on March 4, 2009.

    I really appreciate that Cebu Pacific is now flying to Calbayog City. It made me avail of the convenience if a cheap and a more comfortable travel to Manila. I am just a student and so I need to budget my money. With the help of your airline, I now have better finances. Thank you cebu Pacific.

    I hope that your daily flight to Calbayog will be permanent. I also would like to suggaest additional route for calbayog-cebu. Thier are many students, employees and the like who are wishing for this offer. I hope that this will soon be realized. More Power toy your company.

    *Please encourage the officials of calbayog also to hasten the rehabilation of the airport here in Calbayog for use, not only of the Calbayognons but for the visting toursit as well.
