Cebu Pacific Flies Direct to Siem Reap in Cambodia

Cebu Pacific (CEB) will become the only airline flying direct from Manila to Siem Reap in Cambodia when it launches its flights on April 19, 2012. It will be a thrice weekly service, utilizing one of Asia’s youngest aircraft fleets.

“Adventurous backpackers usually travel by land from Ho Chi Minh or Bangkok to Siem Reap, just so they can visit Angkor Wat, part of the Angkor World Heritage site. Now, Cebu Pacific can fly them to Siem Reap on its trademark lowest fares,” CEB VP for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog said.

CEB will also be the only airline operating flights between the Philippines and Cambodia. According to the UNESCO World Heritage Center, Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. The Angkor Archaeological Park contains the remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to the 15th century, including the famous Temples of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Bayon.

To launch its newest international route, CEB offers P888 seats between Manila and Siem Reap from Jan. 27 to 29, 2012 or until seats last. These are for travel from April 19 to May 31, 2012.

Flights for CEB’s Manila – Siem Reap – Manila route are scheduled to depart Manila at 7:50 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, arriving in Siem Reap at 9:30 p.m. Return flights will leave Siem Reap at 10:30 p.m., and arrive in Manila at 2:10 a.m.

CEB operates the most extensive network from the Philippines to the ASEAN region, with 12 weekly flights to Bangkok, four weekly flights to Brunei, daily flights to Ho Chi Minh, four weekly flights to Jakarta, three weekly flights to Kota Kinabalu, twice daily flights to Kuala Lumpur, and up to seven daily flights to Singapore. It will commence its direct twice weekly Manila-Hanoi flights on March 17, 2012.

Meanwhile, CEB also holds a seat sale to select destinations from Jan. 27 to 29, 2012 or until seats last, for travel from March 1 to May 31, 2012.

Cebu Pacific marks NAIA-3 transfer with system-wide seat sale

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country’s largest domestic carrier, will mark the August 1 transfer of its entire operations to NAIA-3 with a system-wide seat sale starting on July 30 to August 5, 2008 or until allocated seats are sold out.

Cebu Pacific offers as low as P888 one-way fares for its international routes, exclusive of government taxes and surcharges.

Fares for domestic routes on the other hand, are all-inclusive, starting at P699 for routes from Manila to Luzon, P999 for routes from Manila to the Visayas and P1,499 for routes from Manila to Mindanao. Intra-Visayas and Mindanao routes start at an all-in fare of P699 one-way.

The system-wide seat sale is non-refundable and is good for travel from September 1 to December 17, 2008.

Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and product, said, “Cebu Pacific will be the first airline to move its entire operations to NAIA-3. Now, we can provide our passengers with a world class airport facility. And, to make their travel experience doubly pleasurable, we are offering them really low promo fares for all our international and domestic routes.”

Cebu Pacific increases capacity to Butuan and Tagbilaran

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the airline business owned by the Gokongwei conglomerate, JG Summit Holdings Inc., will mount additional flights to Butuan and Tagbilaran this summer period.

At present, Cebu Pacific flies a daily A320 service to Butuan and a twice daily A319 service to Tagbilaran.

Beginning May 17, 2008, Cebu Pacific will add four times weekly, A319 flights to Butuan (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday). The additional flight departs from Manila at 06:10am and arrives in Butuan at 7:35am. It departs from Butuan at 8:05am and lands in Manila at 9:30am.

The airline will also mount an additional three times weekly (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), A319 service to Tagbilaran. The flight leaves Manila at 6:30am and lands in Tagbilaran at 7:55am. Consequently, it departs for Manila at 8:25am and arrives at 9:40am.

“We are confident that we can sell the additional seats with our low fares and further stir domestic travel to these destinations. We are now the biggest carrier operating the most flights to Butuan and Tagbilaran.” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Product.

The lowest ‘Go’ fare to Butuan starts from P688 one-way and Tagbilaran starts from P288 one-way. Fare is exclusive of applicable surcharges and government tax.

Cebu Pacific takes delivery of first ATR 72-500 aircraft

Gokongwei-owned airline, Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ single largest domestic carrier, took delivery of its first brand new ATR 72-500 aircraft yesterday from Toulouse, France.

Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific spokesperson, said that the arrival of the ATR is another significant milestone for the company, as it starts taking delivery of up to eighteen ATR aircraft valued at over US$ 330 million.

“We continue to have the newest and youngest fleet in the Philippines with the delivery of our first ATR aircraft. We expect to take delivery another five ATRs from March to December of this year,” Iyog said.

Iyog added, “Our fleet expansion with the ATR aircraft is a critical step to achieving our goal of bringing air travel closer to more Filipinos.”

She further explained that with the ATR fleet, Cebu Pacific will now be able to fly into more airports in the country and extend its trademark low fares to more Filipinos.

Stéphane Mayer, ATR CEO, declared: “We are honoured with this first introduction in such an important and strategic market. ATR is consolidating its strong leader position in Asia, which represents more than 60% of our new orders since the recovery of the turboprop market in 2005. With their ability to land on short runways, their reliability, and their ease of maintenance, the ATR aircraft will bring an optimal service to Cebu Pacific. We will be glad to take part in the expansion of Cebu Pacific and the growth of their network”.

The airline will also take delivery of four brand new Airbus A320 aircraft this year. Cebu Pacific expects to have a fleet of 25 by yearend 2008, with 6 ATRs and 19 A320/319 aircraft. This will be used to support its rapid domestic and international network expansion geared to carry more than seven million passengers this year.

MIAA, Cebu Pacific team up for domestic airport expansion

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and Cebu Pacific (CEB), in a joint effort, will upgrade and expand the Manila Domestic Terminal (MDT) to improve its facilities for its increasing number of passengers.

The project will start by February 15, 2008 and should be completed by April 15, 2008.

The improvements will include:

1. The opening of a new arrival area with five baggage conveyors instead of the three conveyors today.
2. A 66% increase in seating capacity of the pre-departure area with the addition of more than 500 seats.
3. The expansion of the flight check-in lobby and security check areas.
4. The construction and addition of boarding gates, holding areas, and restrooms which will double the capacity of these structures from present.
5. The construction of a covered walkway to the aircraft parking bays at the ramp.

Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific spokesperson said, “We have definitely outgrown the MDT and we are looking forward to its expansion. We recognize how important the airport experience is to our guests so we are happy about this joint effort with the Manila International Airport Authority.”

The airline will relocate its cargo receiving section to pave way for the new arrival area.

Manila International Airport Authority will spend for the amenities upgrade in the arrival area and the construction and upgrading of the pre-departure lounge and departure areas.

Cebu Pacific expects to carry more than 7 million passengers in 2008, 70 percent of whom will be domestic travelers. The airline carried more than 5 million passengers last year.
